Class XII – Although one can essentially choose any stream, some specialized courses in cinematography and sound recording require science (PCM) in Class XII.

After Class XII – In general, graduates in any stream are eligible direction and film making course. However some specialized cinematography courses and sound recording require a graduate degree in Physics or Electronics.

With increasing competition, formal training in film making, especially in direction and production work, are essential to be successful. Both undergraduate and post graduate courses are possible.

Note: While courses are open to graduates in any field, courses in cinematography and audiography at the undergraduate and post graduate level require a background in science in Class XII and / or graduation in the sciences or engineering.
