Marine engineers are responsible for overall maintenance and construction of ships. They take care of engine room, electrical motors, sailing vessels, ports, cargo facilities etc. They work with many types of equipment so they must have strong technical knowledge and strong analytical skills in order to deal with different devices at a same time.

For getting admission into marine engineering course candidate must have passed 10+2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics as compulsory subjects and cleared the entrance exam. After clearing the entrance exam and depending upon the rank one can choose a college and pursue engineering courses in marine engineering. BE in marine engineering is a four years duration course and if some one wants to pursue post graduation course after completing his engineering, then he can enroll himself for M.E in marine engineering course which is a two years duration course. The admission to M.E course is also based on entrance exam.
