IIT JEE 2013 Entrance Exam: Students Writes as Per the New Format


Engineering colleges in Delhi are among the best in the country. The names common are the IIT-Delhi and Delhi Technological University. The first institute, IIT-Delhi is part of the autonomous body of institutions and is one of the many branches located across various Indian cities. It conducts its own exams, the IIT-JEE. Every year, thousands of students try their luck by appearing in this prestigious exam.


About IIT-JEE: Format change in 2013 

You ask any engineering aspirant and 9 out of 10 students want to score high in the IIT-JEE and enroll in any of the prestigious engineering colleges in the country. The Indian Institutes of Technology Joint Entrance Examination commonly said as JEE or IIT-JEE is a yearly entrance examination in India. This is one and only way to get a seat in any of the sixteen Indian Institutes of Technology. IIT-JEE scores are also applicable to study in engineering in the Indian School of Mines.

From 2013, the examination format will have certain changes in format. IIT JEE will follow a new format after agreed by the Union government and the Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs). The Joint Admission Board (JAB) had suggested this new format and from 2013 is the first year of following this new format.

The year 2013 is also special as IIT-JEE is clubbed with AIEEE, another engineering entrance examinations for the NITs and other top engineering institutes of the country. The 2013 IIT JEE will have two phases of examination. The first phase is JEE Main and the second phase will be called JEE Advanced.

Students aiming to study in NITs, the Indian Institute of Space and Technology, and IIITs and IITs will have to clear the JEE Main round of examination. This engineering entrance examination is for the undergraduate courses available in the various colleges of engineering.

IIT –JEE 2013: No glitches witnessed in offline mode of examination 

IIT-JEE for 2013 has registered whopping number 8,000 students who will sit for the examination. For the year 2013, the offline examination was held on 7th April 2013. More than 81 cities across India had test centers for the offline mode of examinations. Students can also appear in the online format, which is planned to be held on 8th April across 29 cities in India.

According to officials conducting the IIT JEE 2013, the examination in the offline mode happened without any glitches, though some students in the II year pre-university year had forgotten to carry their PUC enrolment number, which is the hall ticket number in the venue.

Official attached to the Central Board for School Education (CBSE), said that these students were however allowed to sit for the examination as CBSE had recorded their information beforehand. These students have to upload the scanned copies of their hall tickets on the examination website as soon as possible.
The students who have appeared for 2013 IIT –JEE  informed that this year’s question paper was easier than expected by students. Physics section was tough, while chemistry and Mathematics papers were easy.
