Accreditation and Recognition
Vellore Institute of Technology has been recognized and accredited and rated highly by most of the esteemed academic bodies. The Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Energy Institute of United Kingdom, the National Assessment and Accreditation Council, All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE), the National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) of the University Grants Commission (UGC) has accredited the university with an 'A' certificate. However, some of the programs offered by VIT are not accredited by such bodies.
Apart from these, the courses at VIT are accredited by the Institution of Engineers,(IEI), the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology of the USA has accredited the civil, mechanical, computer science, biomedical engineering, electronics & communication and electrical & electronics engineering programs at VIT.
More recognition
Apart from the above the Vellore Institute of Technology is the first educational institution in India to be awarded the International Organization for Standardization 9002 Certificate for 3 years by the Det Norske Veritas ( DNV) of Netherlands for the organization of its cultural festival 'Riviera' in 2011. VIT remains the first educational institution to be honored with the TVN-KIDAO-NIQR award instituted by the National Institute of Quality and Reliability (NIQR), for maintaining exceptional educational quality.
About VITEEE 2013
Vellore Institute of Technology Engineering Entrance Exams, (VITEEE 2013) is an entrance exam for admission in undergraduate engineering courses for the academic session of 2013. Looking at the profile of the college lakhs apply for admissions here and VITEEE 2013 remains one of the most competitive entrance exams. VITEEE 2013 application forms were out in February and the best part is that the college fees remains reasonable at the rate of Rs 1, 17, 800 per annum. VITEEE 2013 exams dates have been announced and the computer based test will be conducted between the 15th and 30th of April, 2013. The tentative date of VITEEE 2013 result is kept at 6th of May 2013.
The VIT exam will comprise of multiple choice questions divided into the four parts namely: Part 1- Physics, Part 2- Chemistry, Part 3- Mathematics, Part 4- Biology .The candidates applying for engineering courses have to attempt and clear Part 1, 2 and 3. It is important to know that if a candidate attempts all parts of VITEEE 2013 Question Paper, only first three parts will be evaluated and hence the focus should remain on the first three parts and subjects. The good news is that there is no negative marking in the exam. As mentioned above the tentative date of result has been kept as 6th May 2013 but can change and it is important to remain in touch with the VIT administration for final dates.
